Areas surrounding Glasgow have been braced for heavy rain amid a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office. The warning comes into place from 3am tomorrow morning.
The Met Office has warned that South Lanarkshire and West Dunbartonshire could be hit with heavy rain between 3am and 12pm on Saturday.
Totals of 20-30mm could fall quite widely for between three to four hours causing potential disruption. Residents are being warned to expect heavy downpours.Bus and train services could be affected with journeys taking longer and the possibility of cancellations. Spray and flooding is to be expected on the roads.The warning states for Scotland, and includes Lanarkshire: "A period of heavy rain is expected to affect many parts of Scotland through the first part of Saturday.
"Strong and gusty southeasterly winds will accompany the rain, with gusts perhaps as high as 40 mph around some exposed coasts and hills in the east."
