Some people welcomed the new facility
Residents have flagged parking concerns but are optimistic over plans for a bookings-only private snooker club. The project is earmarked for Apex House, at Unit 3 in Elson Street, New Basford, and has been outlined in a change of use application to Nottingham City Council by applicant Aasim Ali.
"I will regenerate this building to create small, self-contained snooker rooms in accordance with all requirements. Our operations will be very strict, where we will work on a bookings-only basis. This means that people cannot simply turn up without booking prior and the amount of people in the building at one time will be restricted.
Reacting to the plan, Mohammed Asghar, 50, who runs Ash Car Body Works, located opposite the building, told Nottinghamshire Live: “A snooker club being opened here would not be a problem. But as you can see, this area is dominated by car repair and sales centres.
