Flamin' Hot's Jesse Garcia addresses 'responsibility' of telling Cheetos story
"But I also had a responsibility just to tell his story," Garcia said. "I don't have that responsibility to carry on the weight of all of these things as Jesse Garcia or as Richard, you know?"
"My responsibility is telling Richard’s story and being honest to what I'm doing during the shooting days," the actor continued. "Now we're talking about it. Now we're talking about how this is a bigger story, a bigger movement than what the movie is." Garcia also noted how the story "transcends cultural lines", elaborating: "This is a relatable story for everyone. Everyone's been the underdog, everyone's needed faith at some point. I think I'm able to compartmentalise that. Otherwise, I’m going to implode."
