Tyrone ’s prospects for 2024 have been dealt a blow with the news that experienced full-back Ronan McNamee has retired from inter-county football.
He missed the majority of this season's League through injury, but returned with a brilliant display as Tyrone defeated rivals Armagh on the final day of Division One campaign - a result which ensured Tyrone retained their place in the top flight while sending the Orchard County to Division Two. An impressive win over Donegal in Ballybofey proved to be something of a false dawn for Feargal Logan and Brian Dooher’s men and they were comprehensively beaten by Kerry in the All-Ireland SFC quarter-final.
