The scam has been making the rounds on social media.
Amazon customers have reported that they have been sent fake text messages from scam artists claiming to be from the giant corporation. The Liverpool Echo reports that these fake messages ask you to follow a link to secure your account, following an "attempted log in".
Another one of the texts read: "From Amazon - A new login has been attempted from IP address: 82.966.81.27 .If this was NOT you, secure your account immediately. [amazon-logins.com]."
