The free events will be taking place in September
People can explore some of Merseyside's much-loved heritage hotspots for free in September as part of a special series of open day events.
The Heritage Open Days will be taking place from September 9 to 18 and will see many attractions open their doors and give guests a chance to see hidden spaces and enjoy new experiences for free. More than 100 Merseyside venues will be taking part in the event, which is brought to you by the National Trust, supported by players of the People's Postcode Lottery and run by thousands of local organisations and volunteers.
Some of the Merseyside venues you can visit include Birkenhead Priory and St Mary's Tower, Liverpool Town Hall, George's Dock Building, Speke Hall and Williamson Tunnels. The theme of this year's Heritage Open Days is astounding inventions, which will put the spotlight on the pioneers of creations we can't live without, as well as the inventors whose work has been overlooked.
