At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Sweden stopped the U.S. from earning a fourth straight Olympic gold. “We lost to a bunch of cowards," then-U.S. keeper Hope Solo, who did not appreciate Sweden’s play-it-safe tactics, More recently, at the 2021 Olympics, Sweden stunned the U.S. 3-0, in their opener.
