Colchester United interim boss Matthew Etherington says the FA Cup will be a welcome distraction after turmoil over his position.
Matthew Etherington says focusing on Colchester United's FA Cup tie against Shrewsbury Town has helped him move on from the "craziness" surrounding his position at the club.He told BBC Essex: "It's been trial and tribulation but we're here now and all I wanted to do was get out on the grass and work with the players."
Crawley said they had "no problem" with Etherington resuming his role as Colchester Under-21 coach if he asked permission. Having played in two FA Cup finals in his career - for the Hammers in 2006 and the Potters in 2011 - Etherington knows what going far in the competition feels like."It's a competition I hold dearly - I played in two cup finals and I really value it," he said.
