Facebook 'knew that coronavirus misinformation dominated sections of its platform but failed to share the information'
Researchers at Facebook were well aware that misinformation about coronavirus was spreading across its platform but did little to prevent it. When Facebook was asked to explain how it was dealing with anti-vaxxers and others spreading mistruths, the company took weeks to respond or ignored. The trove of documents shows that in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Facebook carefully investigated how its platforms spread misinformation.
