Even though it’s now a Microsoft property, Bethesda has confirmed that Fallout 4’s next gen update *will* be coming to PS5 in 2023.
This is either Microsoft knowing it wouldn’t make sense to lock a free update to its own platform or it’s because the company is contractually obligated due to Fallout 4 originally being a PlayStation release as well.
The timing also works to Microsoft’s advantage in terms of proving to regulators that they are still willing to release games on PlayStation formats. Even if that ignores the fact that other Bethesda titles have already been made exclusives and the only reason Fallout’s status is unclear is because the next game is so far out.the same treatment.
