Today at the grand aged of 150 in human years, Holly is looking for a loving retirement home
A dog aged 21 - or 150 in human years - has been taken in by a leading rescue centre in Northern Ireland after being surrendered to a dog warden as unwanted.
"On Tuesday we had dog admitted to our care. The dog warden received a call to collect Holly and take her away with the owner asking for her to be put to sleep. She was given a reference number 288 by the council and the dog warden was excellent and understood this old girl still had a good bit of life about her. So they contacted us to see if we could help.
"We reached out for help for this special girl and the team at Almost Home in Moira contacted us and offered her a home in their elderly care unit, Heather House. One of our volunteers put Holly in the car immediately and drove to Moira and handed Holly over to the team there. "To get to this age is remarkable and shows a love of life. She deserves the very best and every chance of life, and a good life and she will get that now, whether in Heather House or with a family.
