Family of Yousef Makki still facing agonising wait three years after teen's fatal stabbing
Yousef Makki’s family will have to wait to discover whether a judicial review to quash the narrative conclusion of his inquest has been successful.
READ MORE : Off-duty police officer and his girlfriend chased grandmother into a shopping centre car park 'for 'texting at the wheel' He said: “In essence, the coroner found insufficient evidence on the balance of probabilities that he was unlawfully killed… we say that there was a wealth of evidence.” Mr Weatherby referenced Molnar’s differing accounts that he said changed from what he told police at the scene in the immediate aftermath of the stabbing, to his trial, and eventually the inquest.
Mr Weatherby said that Ms Mutch “should have taken account of this discrepancy” and therefore, the “inherent unlikelihood of Mr Molnar’s account.” Mr Weatherby added: “She didn’t go into the lies told and discrepancies which question whether his account can be relied upon at all.” Of the coat incident, Mr Weatherby added: “This was not some immediate loss of temper or upset… It is significant how angry he is and how it pervaded for 90 minutes, six minutes from when he stabs Yousef.”
