The devastated family of a Scots lorry driver who tragically died in a crash on the A9 have paid a heartfelt tribute to him.
The other lorry driver - a 56-year-old man - was blue-lighted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, where he was later released after receiving treatment. The section of road currently remains closed as officers carry out ongoing inquiries into the fatal collision. Alan's cousin, Shirley MacDonald, wrote on Facebook : "RIP Alan. Our big gentle cousin with a big heart one of the kindest people to ever know. Devastated, taken to early. Until we meet again, love you."
Dave Tosh wrote: " I had the pleasure of working with him over the past 30 years. A true gent who will be sorely missed.Ali Greig added: "Absolutely devastated at the loss of Alan, a good friend & former work colleague."Officers from Police Scotland have launched an investigation into the crash, asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.
