Julie McAlaney was diagnosed with terminal cancer after suffering overwhelming neck pain. Now, her family have raised thousands of pounds for a charity close to their hearts.
A mum-of-two was diagnosed with terminal cancer after being rushed to A&E with severe neck pain, despite having visited the GP multiple times prior.
Speaking to Glasgow Live, daughter Stacey Anderson, discussed their fundraiser and told of how it brought them all a little bit of positivity during tough times. However, Julie and her family went above and beyond and also donated goods directly to the nurses who treated her personally. Stacey said: "Aside from the money raised for the Beatson, we wanted give back to the nurses who treated my mum in particular.
Speaking to Glasgow Live in January of this year, Julie thanked the staff at the Beatson and the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for the care they had given her, she said: "I cannot thank the staff at the Beatson and the stem cell transplant unit at the QE enough, they have been an absolute godsend.
