The Sheron family flew from Chicago to Manchester but their suitcases did not
A family says their dream holiday was spoiled and they underwent 'significant emotional stress' after their bags weren't loaded onto their return flight. The Sheron family travelled back home to Manchester from Chicago, the ECHO reports, via Heathrow.
Mum Jill, 53, said she spent hours each day on the phone for over a week trying to find out when the bags would be delivered, before they finally arrived this morning, Thursday, September 14. Jill said she and her family had undergone "significant emotional stress" and added the airline's baggage delivery system was "incompetent".British Airways claimed a courier attempted to deliver the bags earlier this week but no one was home.
"We had nothing but our hand luggage. We eventually had a message telling us our cases would be delivered from Manchester on Saturday, but when I spoke with the courier he said he only had one case. He said he expected the others to follow soon. Jill claimed the customer service from British Airways was "appalling" and when she called its customer services she "never got a straight answer". She added: "I felt like I was being pulled from pillar to post.
