The reaction to MW3's swathes of guns has stirred a reaction in the Call of Duty community - here's our take.
Modern Warfare 3 is up for a release later on this year, and until then fans of the Call of Duty franchise will be obsessing about all of the new weapons that could be in the game.
Those excited for the new Call of Duty have stated that it’s “getting us a bit closer to Battlefield 4’s incredible weapon pool”, which is an exciting direction for the game. One of Battlefield’s strongest features has always been the masses of weapons available, alongside their customisability. Call of Duty has also tacked onto this in recent years, and Modern Warfare 2 itself had a decent amount of weapons available.
However, while there’s a buzz around the amount of guns in MW3, there’s also the reverse effect from those not looking forward to what might be considered too many weapons. “A literal s***-ton of guns and 90% of the playerbase will still only run the same 4 or 5”, writes one fan, while others say “none of them really matter when everyone just uses the ‘meta’ anyway”.
