Fans have called for Kevin Sinfield to be knighted after he carried his teammate Rob Burrow over the finish line in the Leeds marathon.legend, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease back in 2019 in one of sport's most heartbreaking stories in recent years.
Their latest fundraising effort was to run in the inaugural Rob Burrow marathon in Leeds, with Sinfield pushing his friend around the course in his wheelchair. Nothing could prepare those watching on for the emotional scenes as they reached the finish line, with Sinfield picking Burrow out of his wheelchair and carrying him over the finish line.
Sinfield then gave Burrow a peck on the cheek and spoke to his close friend, before placing him back in the wheelchair. Those watching on couldn't hide their emotions as such a true show of friendship was laid bare, with several sports fans calling on Sinfield to be knighted for the work he's done for his friend, Burrow.In emotional scenes, Sinfield carried Burrow over the finish lineSinfield gave Burrow a kiss as they crossed the finish line as those around them applauded"This is what love for a mate looks like.
