England's Mark Wood makes fans gasp as his record fast bowl causes ball to be replaced
With a top speed of 95mph in his first over, things got even more impressive in his second when the 33-year-old's lighting delivery against Marnus Labuschagne left fans in awe.
Seeing a peak speed of 96.5mph on the big screen after 8.3 overs, a fired-up crowd could be heard letting out an audible gasp as the impressive pace was confirmed. In comparison, Jofra Archer's quickest average speed during the 2019 series was 93mph, a figure beaten by Wood who averaged just over 93mph.
Wood soon got his reward with the priceless wicket of Aussie opener Usman Khawaja, clean bowling the in-form batter with a 95mph delivery.
