The interchange is due to open in the Spring of next year
new transport interchange - a key part of the £1 billion masterplan for the town centre - taking shape.
It will also make Stockport 'Metrolink ready' with space being left for a potential stop on the site, should the network ever be extended to the town as been widely touted in the past. Last Autumn, bosses said the next phase would of the build would see foundations continue to be installed around the interchange to support columns above ground level, as well as floor construction and decking levels being formed for the residential element.
The interchange project is being delivered by Transport for Greater Manchester , Stockport Council, and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority in conjunction with contractor Willmott Dixon. The apartments are being built by their residential partner City Rise.
