Concern is growing for a duck believed to have had a Coca-Cola wrapper caught around its neck for six weeks.

The eider duck was spotted on Albert Dock in Leith with the sticky plastic around its neck on Friday but has been seen swimming around with it on its neck for almost two months. ‘It is very difficult to get it off. If it gets tighter, the duck will be struggling to breathe, or strangled.‘It breaks my heart.’She praised volunteers at Save Our Shores Leith for doing clean-ups in the area but added: ‘Edinburgh is getting worse for litter.’
