A micropub could be set up if Ashfield District Council approves the new plan
Neighbours of a Nottinghamshire store fear a bar being set up inside would cause drunken behaviour and violence. A micropub could be set up inside what is currently part of the One Stop in Shepherd Street, Hucknall, if Ashfield District Council approves the newly submitted plan.
As well as diversifying the business, the applicant said the reduced size of the One Stop would be "more convenient". A single-storey extension is also planned, which the applicant says will not impact on the neighbouring buildings and is required for storage space for the shop.Planners described the scale of the scheme as "not at all harmful" to the surrounding context in planning documents.
"The micropub is also an internal venue and closing time is at 10pm. This further reduces any chances of noise impact on residents. This was purposefully set due to the residential setting."
