Residents believe it is part of a wider problem
Residents have raised safety concerns over a busy road in Nottinghamshire after a car crashed into the front of a house. A cream coloured Renault was driven into the front garden of a property in Moorbridge Road, Stapleford, causing significant damage to the vehicle and a brick wall.
“The canal runs along here, it’s the national cycling network route, there’s fishermen, it’s a nice place to go for a walk but there’s nowhere to cross safely here. It’s ridiculous that it joins up as its so dangerous, it’s a hazard and so traffic calming measures would be a good thing.” "A lot of people walk down there to access the canal, a lot walk down with fishing gear or go down on their bikes. It could've easily been worse and god forbid anyone gets run over.
"It's getting bigger and bigger and more HGVs are using the road," he said. "I don't know what the answer is but that's what the county council's traffic team is for."
