The Ferrari F1 team's head of vehicle concept David Sanchez, a key figure in the design and development of its cars, has left the Maranello squad. Full story:
Sanchez, who has effectively been in charge of the design and development of Ferrari's F1 cars for the past two seasons, has been at Maranello for more than 10 years.in October 2012 as principal aerodynamicist, before replacing Dirk de Beer as chief aerodynamicist in 2016.
With senior figures at other teams all likely to need to see out a lengthy period of gardening leave, Ferrari will almost certainly need to shuffle staff internally to make up for his absence in the short term. Speaking ahead of the start of the season, Vasseur said that nobody would escape his request to lift their game.
