The captain of a Scottish ferry has welcomed its ‘youngest ever passenger’ after a baby was born onboard.
The baby girl was born onboard the MV Argyle as it crossed from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay on Wednesday morning. Her mum was travelling from the Isle of Bute to Ayrshire to give birth, but the infant arrived before she could complete her journey.reports. Captain Lee McDowell said: ‘We are delighted at thenews of a very special delivery on board MV Argyle in Wemyss Bay this morning – a baby girl.A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed: ‘We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and transferred the patient and newborn baby to hospital.’
In Atlanta, US, a baby was born in a McDonalds toilet after the the expectant mum ran in to use the bathroom on the way to the hospital.
