The FIA has given Andretti Formula Racing its green light to join the Formula 1 grid, subject to it reaching a commercial agreement with FOM.
Following months of analysis by the FIA over the expressions of interest to join F1 from 2025 at the earliest, the governing body finally confirmed the outcome of its efforts.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said the process of selecting the team had been very thorough, which is why it took so long. "I congratulate Michael Andretti and his team on a thorough submission. I also want to thank all prospective teams for their interest and participation. "I would like to thank all of the FIA team members involved in the Expressions of Interest process for their tireless efforts in ensuring a diligent assessment of all of the applications received.
