Dozens of firefighters are battling a blaze at a block of flats worth millions in centralFire broke out in the roof of the five-storey block on Eaton Place in Belgravia at about 11.40am and white smoke could be seen billowing from the building.People have been told to avoid the area due to the smoke and road closures.
A ‘significant’ part of the roof is alight, as well as a flat on the fourth floor and part of a flat on the third floor. About 80 firefighters and 12 fire engines are at the scene, with the fire service having received 26 calls to alert them. There are now twelve fire engines and around 80 firefighters at the scene of a fire on Eaton Place. A significant part of the roof and a flat on the fourth floor are alight.
