Emergency services were scrambled
Crews from across Ormskirk, Tarleton, Skelmersdale, Fulwood and Leyland were all summoned when the blaze started in Burscough on Saturday night. The fire involved straw which had caught fire inside an outbuilding on Red Cat Lane.
lancashire-fire-and-rescue-service>Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was "well alight" when crews arrived at around 10.40pm. Crews tackled the flames through the night and a reduced number remained at the scene through Sunday morning to continue dampening down hotspots.
"Crews are currently in attendance and are using three jets to tackle the fire." In a 5.20am update, they added: "Firefighters remain in attendance and are dampening down hotspots using two jets. This incident has now been reduced to two fire engines."
