Breaking: Keep your doors and windows closed if you're in the area
Roads have been closed in West Lancashire as firefighters respond to a huge barn fire.
Crews were called to a property on Carr Lane in Lathom this morning and continue to battle the blaze hours on. Fire engines were called at around 8am and despatched from Skelmersdale, Ormskirk, Chorley, Bamber Bridge and Preston. Road closures have been put in place at Carr Lane, leading to heavy traffic between Hoscar Moss Road and Wheat Lane. Those nearby are urged to keep windows and doors closed if they notice the smoke.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said: "At 08:07 on the 3rd May 2023, six fire engines from Skelmersdale, Ormskirk, Chorley, Bamber Bridge along with the aerial ladder platform from Preston attended a commercial building fire on Carr Lane, Lathom.
