Steve Coogan will be transformed into Leeds born Jimmy Savile for the new four-part BBC drama coming this autumn
The BBC have revealed the first images of its upcoming new drama The Reckoning. The programme will see Steve Coogan's transformation into vile Leeds paedophile Jimmy Savile.
The new drama will trace the life of Jimmy Savile, a man who, for decades, became one of the UK’s most influential celebrities, but in death has become one of the most reviled figures of modern history following revelations of extensive and horrific abuse.Promotional photos of the new drama released today show 57-year-old Steve Coogan looking alarmingly similar to the peado TV star as he is pictured sitting on a chair looking out of a window wearing a blonde wig and red tracksuit.
A synopsis of the series reads: "The series will explore how Savile used his celebrity and powerful connections to conceal his crimes and exploit institutional failings. It is important to understand how he was able to hide in plain sight in order to gain a greater understanding of how he evaded justice.
