Philip and Elaine Marco died after getting trapped in their submerged car
A man and woman found dead after their car was submerged in flood water have been named locally. Married couple Philip and Elaine Marco died after becoming trapped in a Mercedes in Liverpool.
Paying tribute to the couple, one friend said: "Terrible tragedy with the passing of our dear friends, Philip & Elaine Marco. May Hashem heal the torn hearts of their children and grandchildren. A huge loss to our community."Another said: "RIP Elaine and Philip xxx." Debbie Mills said: "Terribly, terribly sad reading this, it's been flooding for years. Absolutely horrific for the two people who have sadly lost their lives, just awful."
Det Chief Insp Mike Dalton said: “Our thoughts go out to the family of the man and woman who sadly lost their lives in this tragic incident, despite the best efforts of passing members of the public, our officers and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Services at the scene.
