In addition to visiting the 13th-century remains of Mugdock Castle, hikers can pass by Craigend Castle, a ruined country house. The walk can be completed over multiple stages as it is accessible by good public transport links with train stations at Partick, Cambuslang, Uddingston, Motherwell and Lanark. For those looking for a challenge, this long-distance walk can be completed in a single journey with overnight accommodation available in urban areas.Located in the Southside’s Linn Park, this walk starts at Pollok House and follows the White Cart Water.
Passing through Kelvingrove Park and Botanic Gardens, the path offers beautiful views of Glasgow University. The closest train station to the start of the walkway is Partick.Gorge Walk is a 3 km circular trail which features a woodland area, a meadow, and a quaint boating pond. A peaceful retreat from the city, this walk passes through a gorge along the banks of Auldhouse Burn - one of Scotalnd’s most important geological sites.
