It's not exactly the weather for it... but always worth knowing!
It's summer, allegedly, although it hasn't felt it recently with all the rain. Does it need to be scorching temperatures for a refreshing ice cream? Clearly not as demonstrated by a couple who recently sheltered during a downpour under a parasol while they tucked into their cones at Newfield Ice Cream Parlour near Southwell.
There's the Indian-inspired paan masala, or fragrant rose. Chocolate varieties such as Kinder Bueno and Ferrero Rocher, and biscuity Oreo and Lotus biscoff are always in demand. The cafe has introduced vegan chocolate and salted caramel too and a refreshing plant-based passion fruit sorbet. But those with a more traditional taste can choose from strawberries and cream, triple chocolate and raspberry ripple. If you want to push the boat out, opt for a luxury sundae with Nutella, pistachio, or mango or for pure indulgence, the towering sundaes comes with whipped cream and a wafer.
Nothing says nostalgia more than an ice rocket lolly. The Retro Rocket Sundae is a juicy and fruity sundae with a rocket ice lolly smashed into a sundae glass and piled high with raspberry sorbet, bubble gum blue gelato and vanilla soft serve, all doused in sprinkles of hundreds and thousands and streaks of strawberry sauce. You say: Lovely! Don’t eat anything an hour before or you’ll regret it. Fantastic experience, quick service an a table straight away.
