Flamingo Land's Loch Lomond mega resort 'well and truly sunk' after SEPA flood fears
Flamingo Land’s plan to build a massive theme park on Loch Lomond have been branded "well and truly sunk" after Scotland’s eco watchdog raised flood fears.
A flood risk map of the proposed site shows how swathes of its 46 acres have been deemed vulnerable to downpours. The watchdog added the risks of devastating deluges are expected to grow bigger due to climate change. West Scotland Green MSP Greer said: "SEPA’s objection is a devastating rebuke to Flamingo Land and underlines just how badly thought through their destructive proposal is.
He added: “Loch Lomond is one of the jewels in Scotland's crown. An exclusive mega resort right on the edge of the Loch would be a scar on an iconic landscape.”
