Aiden Edwards, 23, was part of a group who threw pyroctechnics and ran towards police officers.
A footballer who formed part of a flare-hurling mob of supporters after the Scottish Cup final has been ordered to carry out 150 hours unpaid work.
He was among a throng of between 50 and 60 supporters who were involved in the incident in the wake of the Perth team's historic double cup win that year. "There is a conviction from a St Johnstone v Hamilton match six years ago, but he has no other record. It has caused him some embarrassment that he has had to ask for time off to come to court and his name has been in the paper, but his employer is supportive.
"The emotion of the occasion and the pleasure of seeing the winning team were what caused him to want to go forward. He is a young person, still under the age of 25." "They were being rowdy, singing and shouting. Prior to the team bus arriving, there were pyrotechnics being thrown onto the road," he said."The group ran towards the gate and burst through it," said PC Hall, 36. "They started throwing missiles towards us. I wouldn't say it was part of any celebrations.
