Merseyside Police confirmed the unnamed man was arrested in April 2023 and bailed pending further enquiries
A former teacher at The Blue Coat School was arrested in relation to historic sexual offence allegations.
A spokesperson for The Blue Coat School, which is in Wavertree, today told the ECHO: "Earlier this year our school received an allegation about the historic conduct of a staff member. Merseyside Police Detective Chief Inspector Andrew McCourt said: "We take all reports of rape and sexual assault extremely seriously, and a full investigation has been launched into this incident. Time is no barrier to reporting such offences for us to investigate, so please let us know if you have been a victim.
