Photograph by Colin MearnsSurvivors of a council-run residential school who claim they were subjected to horrific abuse will protest outside of Glasgow City Chambers to demand acknowledgement from the local authority.to Fornethy House in Kilry, Perth & Kinross, where they allegedly suffered abuses including being force-fed, beaten, emotionally abused and sexually assaulted.

Sharon Morcombe, another survivor of Fornethy House, said:"There must have been complaints from parents after their kids got home." A council spokesperson said: “We are doing everything we can and understand how upsetting this situation must be.” "They sent us and they should have checked on us to make sure we were being cared for, we were being looked after."You shouldn't know things about sex when you're only five years old.A Scottish Government spokesperson said: “The abuse of children in any setting or circumstance is abhorrent and should never be allowed to happen.

"The Scottish Government will continue to engage with the group and listen to members’ concerns regarding scheme eligibility, justice and support.”
