Edwin and Lorraine McLaren were responsible for Scotland’s longest ever criminal trial. McLaren preyed on vulnerable people by arranging for the title deeds of their homes to be transferred to his associates without the victims' knowledge.

He said:"This is affecting my health. It is damaging my health."I would ask your lordship to give us back my daughter's jewellery and to have access to our pensions.The judge refused to grant McLaren's request and ordered the pair to return to court for another hearing next month.The couple, from Bridge of Weir in Renfrewshire, were responsible forMcLaren was jailed for 11 years in 2017 for his involvement in a £1.6m property fraud scheme.

McLaren's wife, also 58, was found guilty of two charges involving a fraudulent mortgage application on their own home and money laundering involving a sum of £128,000.that began in September 2015 and heard evidence over 320 days.During their trial, a court heard how McLaren preyed on vulnerable people by arranging for the title deeds of their homes to be transferred to his associates without the victims' knowledge.
