More than 250 people signed a petition
A council will consider the future of a 'vital' cancelled bus service after being petitioned by commuters. Trent Barton's route 21 service, which ran from Heanor to Nottingham through Stapleford, stopped on October 2, 2022.
Officials have now said the area previously served by the 21 service would be considered by a bus network review into all council supported services across Nottinghamshire. Richard MacRae, Independent councillor for Stapleford North, who helped set up the petition, said: "It comes off the back of the petition we put in. It would be great for them to be able to do something about it."If there's any possibility of a trial, people need to use it.
"It's also the only bus from our end of Stapleford that takes people directly past the Queen's Medical Centre, so it's just cutting off that lifeline to everyone. We've approached CT4N to see if they can take on the route as they kind of took on the 18 when Trent Barton pulled that but they don't have the capacity to do it."
