A secondary school has had to cancel activities after collapse-risk concrete (Raac) was found in a roof.

the affected area of the hall will not be used until mitigations are in place.

The hall was built in 1981, within the range that was already the focus of past surveys, but it is thought that the material’s good condition is why it wasn’t identified as a concern previously. On September 6, the Department for Education said that “The government will spend whatever it takes to keep children safe.”
