The FTC has announced its intent to try and block Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
The FTC has announced its intent to move to block Microsoft's attempt to acquire Activision Blizzard, stating that"Microsoft has already shown that it can and will withhold content from its gaming rivals.”confirms that the Commission will be intervening in an attempt to prevent Microsoft from acquiring Activision Blizzard.
Holly Vedova, director of the FTC’s Bureau of Competition adds that Microsoft"has already shown that it can and will withhold content from its gaming rivals" with those titles. “Today we seek to stop Microsoft from gaining control over a leading independent game studio and using it to harm competition in multiple dynamic and fast-growing gaming markets.
