The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for Walverden Water at Nelson.
Heavy rain overnight has meant that some Lancashire schools have been forced to close their doors today.
Flood alerts have also been issued for the Lower River Wyre, Upper River Wyre, Lower River Ribble and Darwen, the River Calder in east Lancashire and the Upper River Ribble at Hodder. This means that flooding is 'possible' in those areas.Lancashire County Council has posted a list of all the schools closed today as well as some schools updating their social media. In Clitheroe, Bowland High has announced they will remain closed today.
Grindleton Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School in Clitheroe has announced it will remain closed. They said: "Adverse Weather, High water levels in surrounding rivers and dangerous road conditions."
