Mum-of-two Helen, aged 42, tragically died after going to bed on a family holiday to the Lake District
The funeral details have been released for 'adored' teacher and ex-Olympic swimmer Helen Smart after her sudden death on a family trip to the Lake District.
The mum-of-two's loved ones shared their heartache after her sudden death with the Manchester Evening News, describing her as an 'adored' and 'much-loved' sister, mother, wife and daughter who was 'always smiling' and 'lit up every room'.Following Helen's death, R Banks and Son Funeral Directors announced on their Facebook page her funeral will take place next Thursday, on August 31.
The family are also fundraising to raise money for a memorial and 'selfie spot' to remember Helen in the Lake District, a place she often visited and said 'felt like home' to her. "She was always the type to seize the moment. She had amazing work ethic, built through her swimming career when she was very young which stuck with her through the rest of her life, from competing in the Olympics to her career as a school teacher.
