Furious Blackburn residents slam 'eyesore waste mound' that appeared outside their homes - and just keeps getting bigger

Residents of a Blackburn suburb are "absolutely fed up" with a mound of earth that has appeared near their homes.

Much to the dismay of residents in nearby St Michael's Close, the mound has been an eyesore visible from their homes, for nearly a year. Not only is is an aesthetic problem, but local Conservative Councillor Paul Marrow has branded the mound "potentially dangerous".

As the residents' spokesperson, Lynda says her own property is not affected that badly, but for people who live near the mound and their homes are in direct view, are "absolutely fed up." She also tells us of the concerns over the safety aspect of the artificial hill. "We need answers - I was also told that they won't be building the new homes this year or next year, so will we have this mound for the next two years?" Livesey with Pleasington ward’s Cllr Marrow who is the party’s regeneration spokesman said: “This huge mound is unsightly and potentially dangerous.
