COPS have charged two people and are searching a property for human remains as part of an investigation into the death of a child in 2020.
West Midland Police confirmed that they had begun searching the garden of a property in Handsworth, Birmingham, while a 40-year-old man and 41-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the death of a child.The pair were also charged with wilful neglect and are both on bail. Police said that they were acting on information received concerning the death of a child two years ago and believed that the garden could be a possible burial site for human remains.
The male suspect has been remanded following a court appearance, while the woman will appear in court "in due course". The current residents of the property are aware of the search and are not connected to the investigation.
