‘The audio didn’t change it at all. It is an obvious mistake,’ said Klopp at his pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow’s game against Union Saint-Gilloise. ‘I think there should be solutions for that. I think the outcome should be a replay. ‘I’m used to wrong and difficult decisions, but something like this never happened and so that is why I think a replay is the right thing to do.’In the immediate aftermath of Saturday’s controversy, Neville had praised Klopp and Liverpool for the measured way in which they had responded to the controversy.
He wrote on X: ‘Can’t believe how Liverpool have grabbed defeat from victory in their handling of this! They were wronged by a shocking mistake. End of!’
