Gemma Atkinson has addressed Gorka Marquez's new Strictly Come Dancing dance partner for the first time since viewers discovered who the Spanish professional would be competing with this year.
Fans watched as Gorka surprised Nikita Kanda on the roof of the BBC building as she waited for her professional dance partner to arrive. The radio and TV presenter revealed her family’s reaction to her taking part in the show, saying: "My mum cried, she was so happy, it’s made everyone feel good and have a bit of a smile on their face."
While he was able to watch the pre-recorded action unfold alongside fiancee Gemma, their daughter Mia and their baby son, Thiago, Gorka swiftly had to leave his family behind as he swapped their Greater Manchester home for London where he has been rehearsing with Nikita. "Last one at home for a while…" he captioned the post with a red heart before adding 'home' in a hashtag. Gorka's Strictly co-stars were quick to respond to the post with 'beautiful' comments and plenty of love hearts while fans also rushed to comment on the post.
