'I thought that we should have got a draw at the end of the game.'
Aston Villa picked up their first win of the new season after defeating Everton 2-1 at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon. The hosts took the lead in the first half through a powerful Danny Ings finish before Emi Buendia doubled Villa’s lead with a tap-in.
It was a positive debut for the young Belgian midfielder, who showed the club’s fans why Everton broke their transfer record to sign him from Lille. “When we were set defensively and organised, I don’t think they gave us too much problems, and we gave the ball away in a couple of transitions and they scored two goals.
“At the end, the spirit was good, and you come away from it with a bad feeling thinking that you should have got a point from it.”
