The new café bar will celebrate a ‘glamorous bygone era’
First announced in January, restaurant group Loungers, which operates under the Lounges and Cosy Club brands, will open the new Oppio Lounge on George Street next Wednesday .
The two-unit restaurant takes over the Bistrot Pierre restaurant, which closed in December after seven years of operation. It will follow the same premise and style as other Loungers, including Expo Lounge in Didsbury, Benito in Chorlton, and Bevano in Urmston. With a nod to a ‘glamorous bygone era’, the venue has been turned into a retro-inspired retreat with heavily patterned wallpapers, eclectic artwork and stripped wooden floors.
Oppio Lounge will feature a varied and innovative all-day menu, featuring brunch, burgers, Malaysian-style fried rice, Mexican Superbowls, salads, tapas and desserts. There will be separate vegan and gluten-free menus. Gemma Irwin, Community Manager at Loungers, previously said: “We are delighted to be bringing Loungers to Altrincham. Our Lounges strive to put community at the heart of hospitality and our teams always go the extra mile to make a difference. They are actively encouraged to connect with their communities by working with local groups, charities, organisations and businesses that are at the heart of the fabric of local life.Oppio Lounge will open on April 19.
