The five-day festival, which ran from June 14 to 18, sold 54% higher ticket sales than last year. The feat included three sold-out shows.

Jill Rodger, Director of Glasgow Jazz Festival, said: “2023 has been a fantastic year for the festival. Seeing it grow a staggering 54% on last year after a few years of disruption and uncertainty is amazing. It’s so encouraging to see that the passion and demand for live jazz“It was wonderful to see the city’s venues come to life with the very best in jazz talent from across the.

The festival ran over various venues including Saint Luke’s and Drygate in the East End, with The Glad Café, The Rum Shack and Some Great Reward in the Southside also taking par. Other venues included Òran Mór, The Hug & Pint and the Mackintosh Church for the first time in the West End, along with The Griffin, The Old Hairdresser’s and Nice N Sleazy within the city centre.

Over 4,000 jazz enthusiasts attended performances over the course of the festival which featured some of the biggest jazz artists worldwide, with Scottish acts rubbing shoulders with musicians from the US, Nigeria, Norway, Spain and more.
