John McDermott Wilson died while serving a life sentence for the shooting and killing of 23-year-old Stephen Barnes
A convicted murderer who went on the run while serving a life sentence has died behind bars having received no visitors for over a year.
A Fatal Accident Inquiry was ordered into his death while he was in custody at Low Moss in February 2021, aged 55. The court heard how he had not received regular visits from family members and his last visit was in 2019. He then deactivated all visitors on his list.
